How does online multiplayer Ludo work?
Multiplayer on Ludo.now does not put two people on one board. Instead, it runs a fair race: same dice, same AI opponents, separate boards, and the fastest finisher wins.
Setting up a match takes seconds
- Open the multiplayer lobby.
- Create a private room. You get a 6-character room code.
- Send the code to a friend. They type it in and join your room.
- The race begins.
A race, not a shared board
You and your opponent each play on your own board against the same AI setup, and you both receive the same seeded dice sequence. The first player to finish their game wins the race. If someone quits early, the player who got furthest wins instead, so leaving never steals a win.
Why identical dice make it fair
In a normal dice game, one hot streak can decide everything. In a seeded race, your opponent gets the same rolls you do. If they finish first, they used those rolls better. It is the same idea behind the daily challenge, applied head to head. More on this in is Ludo a fair game.
Chat and rematch built in
Every room has a chat, so you can talk during the race. When it ends, a rematch button starts a new race in the same room, no new code needed. Best of three settles most arguments.
