How is Ludo scored?
Winning is the classic goal of Ludo, but Ludo.now also scores every game. The scoring rewards bold, efficient play instead of slow, safe shuffling.
What earns and costs points
| Event | Effect on score |
|---|---|
| Capturing an enemy token | Earns points |
| Bringing one of your tokens home | Earns points |
| Each turn you take | Costs a small amount |
The best scores come from aggressive, efficient games: capture when it helps, finish your tokens, and do not waste turns.
Why turns count against you
The small per-turn cost rewards players who finish with a plan. Two players can both win their games, but the one who needed fewer turns scores better. It also keeps scores honest in easier variants, where slow and cautious play would otherwise pile up points without risk.
How the leaderboards rank games
The leaderboards rank finished games by completion time. Only finished games count, so quitting early never earns a spot. If you want a target to chase, see what is a good Ludo time.
Three ways to score higher
- Capture with purpose. Each capture earns points and sets your opponent back a full lap. Learn the details in how capturing works.
- Finish tokens. Points for tokens brought home add up, so do not park tokens near the end.
- Cut wasted turns. Every turn costs a little. Make each roll do something useful.
